Will of Eliza Penfold of Billingshurst

In the Name of God Amen I Eliza Penfold of Billingshurst in the County of Sussex Taylor being weak in body but of a sound and disposing mind and memory praised bee give to God therefore Doe make and ordeine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following ffirst I give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of Allmighty God my heavenly ffather assuredly beleiving that through the mercy and the meritorious death and passion of my dear Saviour Jesus Christ I shall receive full and free pardon & forgiveness of all my Sinns and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried in the Church Yard in Billingshurst aforesaid at the discretion of my executrix hereafter named And as touching the disposition of all such temporall Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give & dispose thereof as followeth ffirst I will & desire that my debts & ffunerall charges shall be paid & discharged Item I give unto Sarah Penfold Elizabeth Penfold and Jane Penfold my three Daughters all my Linnen equally between them share and share alike Item All the Rest & Residue of my Estate money goods & chattels whatsoever I do give & bequeath unto Sarah Penfold aforesaid my eldest Daughter whom also I do make full & sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testament And I do desire and appoint my two friends Thomas Turner of Billingshurst aforesaid Cordwainer & John ffurlonger maltster of Billingshurst aforesaid to be my two Overseers & to be Assistant to my Executrix in proving & ordering this my last Will & Testament according to the true intent & meaning hereof And I do hereby revoke disannul & make void all former & other Wills & Testaments by me heretofore made & this to be taken to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Penfold to this my last Will & Testament have sett my hand & seal the Third day of September in the ffourth year of the reign of our most gracious Soveraign Lord George by the grace of God of great Britain ffrance & Ireland King Defender of the ffaith Annoq 1717 _ The marke & Seal of Eliza Penfold _ Signed Sealed Published and declared to be my last Will & Testament in the presence of _ Thomas Dilfold _ Catherine Willet her mark _ Eliza: Furlonger
