The Two and Twentyeth Day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty Six I John Comber of Balcombe in the County of Sufsex husbandman being ill but of **ort mind and memory (blefsed be God for the same) yet calling to minds the **tain state of ** in this life do hereby make my last will and teftament in manner & form following (that is to say) First I bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as for my worldly goods the which it hath pleased God to blefs me with all I give and bequeath after this manner First Item I give to my Son John One Guinea Item I give unto my daughter Anne Box Twenty pounds Item I give to my son ffrancis Twenty pounds Item I give to my son Stephen Thirty Pounds Item I give to my daughter Mary Thirty Pounds Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth Thirty Pounds all to be paid in one year after my decease All the rest of my goods and chattells after all my debts are paid funerall Expenses discharges and will proved I will give and bequeath to the same to my two sons Thomas & William and I do hereby make them whole and sole executors jointly for this my last will and testament with this confidence in the ** that they will jointly agree to pay the said Legacies before mentioned and I do hereby desire my goodfriend and Landlord Henry Bray Esq and my goodfriend John Newnham of Ardingly Gent to be ** in trust and do direct them to see the same fullfilled and that this is my last will and testament and no other contained in ** [lines on film obscure words] Witnefs where of I have here unto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written the mark and seale of John Comber published and declared to be my last will and testament and sealed and delievered in the presence of

The Testator John Comber was born on 16 March 1660 in Ardingly and was buried in Balcombe on 30 December 1729. He was my 7x Great Grandfather.
