Will of William Brocker of Ardingly

In the name of God Amen I William Brocker of Ardenly in the County of Sussex husbandman being well in body and a good and perfect memory (praised be God for it doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testamt. First I commend my Spiritt to God that gave it me. And my body to the earth from whence it came. Item I give and bequeath unto Dorrity Brocker my deare wife fifty pounds. And to be paid her within three moneths after my decease by my executor hereafter menshoned. And I alsoe give my wife one cow to sheepe one feather bedd and all that belong to him seven paire of sheets. And all other the goods that was my wives before I married her as doth appeare by her inventary date the fifth day of February one thousand six hundred fifty and eight. Item I give and bequeath unto Jeafre Brocker my eldest sonne thirty pound to be paid him within three moneths after my decease. And I alsoe give unto Jeafry my sonne one paire of three yering steares to paire of hempen sheets. Item I give and bequeath unto Ralfe Brocker my second sonne tenn pounds to be paid him within three moneths after my decease. And I alsoe give unto my sonne Ralfe Brocker fower paire of towen sheets and a canvas bed usally to be filled with chaffe. Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Ralphe Brocker eldest daughter Jane tenn pounds to be paid her att her day of merrage or att one and twenty yeares of age within three moneths after my decease. Item I give unto my sonne Ralphes second daughter Mary Brocker five pounds if she live to the age of one and twenty yeares or att her day of merrage if not I give the said five pounds to her said sister Jane Brocker to bee paid her within three moneths after my decease. Item I give unto my sonne Ralfes Broker sonne John five pounds to be paid him if he live to the age of one and twenty yeares within three moneths after my decease. Item I give unto my youngest sonne William Brocker twenty pounds to be paid him within three moneths after my decease. And I alsoe give unto my sonne William foure sheepe and fower paire of sheets one boarded chest with a till and one brasse pott. Item I give unto my daughter Anne Brocker thirty pounds to be paid her att her day of merrage or att one and twenty yeares of age within three moneths after my decease. And I alsoe give unto my said daughter Jane five paire of sheets. All the rest of my goods and chattells I give and bequeath unto James Brocker my third sonne whom I make whole and sole executor of this my last Will and Testament. And I doe appoint my loving brother John Streat and my sonne Jeafry Broker to be overseers to this my last will and Testament to see my deats and legacies paid to the true intent and meaning of this my last will. And for their paines I give them twenty shillings to be equally devided betweene them. In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the first day of February and in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred seaventy and fower 1674. The marke of William Brocker.
