WHITEHALL, April 28, 1863. The Queen has been pleased to give and grant unto George Archdall, Clerk, Doctor in Divinity, Master of Emmanuel College, in the University of Cambridge, and one of the Canons of the Cathedral Church of Norwich, and unto Jemima Elizabeth Archdall, his wife, Her royal licence and authority that they may, in compliance with an injunction contained in the last will and testament of William Gratwicke, of Ham, in the parish of Angmering, in the county of Sussex, Enquire, deceased, take and henceforth use the surname of Gratwicke in addition to and after that of Archdall ; that the said George Archdall may bear the arms of Gratwicke; and that the said Jemima Elizabeth Archdall may bear the arms of Gratwicke quarterly, in the first quarter with those of Kinleside; such arms being first duly exemplified according to the laws of arms, and recorded in the Heralds' Office, otherwise the said royal licence and permission to be void and of none effect: And also to command that the said royal concession and declaration be registered in Her Majesty's College of Arms.
