In the name of God Amen the xxith daye of February in the yere of o’r Lord God 1578 accordinge to the computacon of the Church of England I Christian Blaker widdowe of Portslade wthin the County of Sussex and Diocs of Chichester sicke in bodie but of good and perfect remembrannce thanks be to Almighty God doe make and ordaine this my psent Testamt and last will in mann’ and forme followinge that is to saye. First I bequeth my sowle .... to Almighty God trusting be the death ............ my saviour to ................ and my bodie to be buried in the churchyard of Portslade at the discretion of my executor. Item I geve and bequeth ... the highe church of Chichester vid. Item I geve and bequeth unto the poore of the pishe of Portslade iiii bushels of wheat and ii bushels of ............... of Sowthweck .... bushel of wheat ...... executor wthin one month next after my decease. Item I geve and bequeth unto Richard Cook of .... my sonne in lawe ... quarters of wheat & iii quarters of barly. Item I geve to Agnes Cook my daughter ... the ... of the saide Richard Cook and to her ... one cubbord one fetherbed one ... ii blanckets ... coverlet of red and yellowe yearne and ii payre of sheets. Item I geve and bequeth unto Edward Beard, Barbara, John & Thomas Beard the children of the said John and Agnes Beard xiis? a pece of good and lawfull mony of England to be paid and to them delivered by my executor at their sev’all ages of xviii yeres and if any of the said children dye before they accomplishe the age of xviii yeres .... their ptes soe dying to remaine to the residewe of them and amongst them equallye to be devided. Item I geve and bequeth to Thomas Foggins of Aldrington my sonne in lawe ii quarters of wheate & iii quarters of barly. Item I geve and bequeth to Alice Fogins my daughter wiffe of ........... one flock bed one bolster one blanket one coverlet of black & ...... payre of sheets my second russet hassock my best worsted kertle & a peticote. Item I geve & bequeth to Christian Foggins, Agnes, Barbara, John Foggins the children of the said Thomas & Alice Foggins xiid? a pece of good & lawfull mony of England to be paid & to every of them delivered by my executor at their sev’all ages of xviii yeres and if any of the said children dye before they accomplishe thage of xviii yeres .......... and their partes soe dyinge to be and .................... amongst them equallye to be devided.
