Will of John Lucke of Warbleton

In the name of God amen, the tenth of July in the year of our lord god 1563 I John LUCKE of the parish of Warbleton in the county of Sussex yeoman being in good health and of good remembrance thanks be unto god and appointed to serve in the queen's majesties armies do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following

First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my body to the earth where it shall please him.

First 1 bequeath to John LUCKE my son one cow of colour red which is my best cow and one two yearing heifer bullock of colour motley and one weaner red of the best.

Item I give to Alice my daughter one black and one with a white face and one black two yearing heifer and one black weaner sharled.

Item I give unto Elizabeth my daughter one cow of the best next unto them before name£ and one twelve monthing heifer of colour brown and white back.

Item I give to Katherin my daughter one cow and one weaner of the best except the before named.

Item I give to Mary my daughter one cow and one heifer.

Item my will is that if it fortune that I come not home again or be not living at Easter next then I will that also such cattle as afore I have given unto my children shall be delivered unto Robert WENBORNE and unto John AUSTIN of the parish of Wadhurst to be bestowed for the profit and use of my son and (his) children at their discretion.

Item my will is that if any of my children do die before the age of fifteen years then I will that the overlivers shall have the portion of the ….. equally shifted among them.

The residue of all my goods unbequeathed I give unto Elizabeth my wife whom I ordain and make my sole executrix of this my last will and she to pay my debts.
