St Peter's church was built in 1892 by Lacy W. Ridge in the Perpendicular style. There is a small bell cote at the west end and flying buttresses above the porch on the west front.
It replaced an earlier church (by William Moseley), that was a chapel of ease to Hartfield built in 1836.
Today the church is part of the United Benefice of Cowden (in Kent), Hammerwood and Holtye.
St Peter's has recently been offered for redundancy by the parish.
Holtye Common was created from the parish of Hartfield.
Church details, together with baptism, marriage, monumental inscription & burial records can be accessed by clicking on the church name.
