Notes:

This chapel was known as St John's Church Hall. It was under the care of St Peter's Church, East Blatchington, and when it was built the hope was to move the church away from St Peter's to St John's, as it would be a larger site and more central within the parish boundaries. This would have lead to the closure of St Peter's.
Fortunately for St Peter's this move never occurred and the chapel became the Parish Hall for St Peter's Church and two mid week services were held there, so the chapel end of the hall was kept in use. The rest of the hall was used by a play group and other organisations.
During the early 1990s it was decided the chapel was looking tired and no longer fit to hold services, so the mid week services were moved to St Peter's. Following the successful acquisition of the former chapel of the Blatchington Court School to convert it into a small parish hall and meeting room, St John's became under used and was leased to the Blue Door Nursery. It is believed the hall has subsequently been sold to the nursery.
