Will of William Ayling of Stedham

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Ayling of Ash in the Parish of Stedham in the county of Sussex Gentleman that is to say I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Richard Ayling son of my late Brother Richard Ayling deceased one annuity or clear yearly sum of five pounds during his natural life also to my nephew William Ayling another son of my late brother I give and bequeath one like annuity or clear yearly sum of five pounds during his natural life and to my nephew Henry Ayling another son of my said late brother I give and bequeath a like annuity or clear yearly sum of five pounds during his natural life also to each & every of the four children of my late niece Elizabeth ffleetwood deced I give and bequeath one annuity of clear yearly sum of Six Pounds to be applied at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named and by him in and towards their maintenance or education respectively and to be payable until they shall respectively attain the age of twenty one years at which periods their respective annuities shall cease and in lieu thereof I give and bequeath to each and every of the said four children who shall live to attain the said age of twenty one years the sum of three hundred pounds sterling to be paid to each and every of them living to attain the age of twenty one years within six calendar months next after they shall respectively attain the said age also I give and bequeath to my housekeeper Elizabeth Luff in case she shall be living in my service at my decease but not otherwise one annuity or clear yearly sum of ten pounds during her natural life and to Richard Scott who now works for me as a Labourer in case he shall be in my service at my decease but not otherwise I give and bequeath one annuity or clear yearly sum of five pounds during his natural life and I direct all the aforesaid several annuities to be paid yearly out of my personal estate the first payment of each to be made at the end of one year next after my decease also I give and bequeath to my niece and Goddaughter Sarah Ayling daughter of my late brother John Ayling deceased the sum of one thousand pounds to be paid within twelve calendar months next after my decease and to my Goddaughter Mary Ayling the eldest daughter of my nephew John Ayling I give and bequeath the sum of five hundred pounds sterling to be paid to her on her attaining her full age of twenty one years and all and singular my freehold and leasehold messuages farms lands hereditaments and premises wheresoever situate with their respective appurtenances and all other my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give devise and bequeath unto my said nephew John Ayling son of my said late brother John and his heirs exors administrators and assigns according to the nature and tenure of the same respectively to and for his and their own use and behoof absolutely And I nominate and appoint my said nephew John Ayling sole executor of this my will and hereby revoking all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made I hereby declare this to be my last will and testament In witness whereof I the said William Ayling the testator have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen Wm Ayling
