In the name of God Amen. In the yeare of o’r Lord God 1588 and the xvth day of May I Alice Boxe of the pishe of Westwitteringe widowe beinge sicke in bodye but pfecte of minde and memory thanks be given unto Allmighty God do make and ordayne this my laste will and testament in manner and forme followinge yt is to saye. Firste I bequeath my sowle into the hands of Allmighty God and my body to be buryed in the church yard of Westwitteringe aforesayd. Item I give unto Maudelin Hoskins the wife of Thomas Hoskins my best gowne. Item I give to Widow Panyell my other gowne. Item I give to Wydow Cleere my best red peticote. Item I give to Mother Barman an old peticote. Item I give to the Widow Trybe a old peticote and a wasle? peticote. Item I give to William Joylie my servannte iis vid. Item I give to my mayde servannte my holy days hatt. Item I give to Jhon my servannte my husbands old hatt. Item I give to Franncis Hoskins the sonne of Thomas Hoskins one ewe sheepe. Item I give to Alice Martin my God daughter one ewe sheepe. Item I give to Thomas Hoskins my sonne in lawe xxs of redy mony. Item I give unto Mr Thomas Fost’r owr vicar my best hatt and xs of redy mony in consideracon of his paynes. And allso my will is yt in my behalfe the foresayd Thomas Fost’r shall have the oversighte of Henry Oxey to see that he be honestly and well brought up and to see that all such legacs be payed and pformed to him accordinge to the true meaninge of my husbands will and testament in all respects.
