With reference to the announcement of the undermentioned awards which appeared in the London Gazette of the 1st January, 1919, the following are the acts of gallantry for which the awards were made : DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT MEDAL. 120896 Sjt. J. H. C. Lindfield, A/112th Bde. , R. F. A. (Crawley). For consistent gallantry and devotion to duty. During the operations in August and September, from Albert to Modslains, he has been twice wounded but refused to leave the battery. He has commanded his gun under heavy shell fire, particularly on the evening of 3rd September, near Le Forest, when during a bombardment the enemy put a barrage down on the battery. His conduct has been most gallant.
