With reference to the announcement of the undermentioned awards which appeared in the London Gazette of the 1st January, 1919, the following are the acts of gallantry for which the awards were made : DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT MEDAL. 21728 L. /Sjt. W. G. Wickens, 10th Bn. , R. W. Surr. R. (Crowborough). For gallantry in action, and continuous good service and devotion to duty. During the last two years he has been linesman corporal, and has shown great gallantry and disregard of danger in maintaining communication in action in the following engagements:— Raid, February, 1917; Messines, 1917; Tower Hamlets, 1917; Hollebeke, 1917-March, 1918; Dickebusch, 1918.
