Harrison's description (1911):

Nearly rebuilt in 1876. The tower and one bay, S. wall and S. door remain of former Tr. Nor. building. The font is late Nor. The tomb, with effigies of Sir Anthony Browne, 1st Viscount Montague, 1592, and his two wives, was removed from over the vault in Midhurst Church last century. Near it is the tomb of Anthony, 6th Viscount, 1767, and his wife, d. 1779. A canopied tomb with effigy of Sir David Owen, d. 1540 (uncle of Henry VII). The monument to the Hon. Mrs Poyntz is by Chantrey. There is a brass to Elizabeth Goring (1558), shewing a tabard over her costume. This church was attached to a little 13th c. Benedictine Priory, and the S. aisle was the nuns' chapel. The remains have been built into a house and a barn. Reg. 1538.
