Crawley

Is situated on the great road from London to Brighthelmstone, from whence it is distant 24 miles, from Horsham 6, and from London 30. The coaches pass through this village from Brighthelmstone to London, two up and two down, every day, except Sunday. The letters are delivered by a cross-post every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It has fairs annually for Welch cattle and toys, the first the 8th of May, the last the 9th of September.
