Notes:

There has been a church on the Durrington Hill site since the 11th century until the seventeenth century. During the English Civil war, the chapel was partly destroyed. It remained a ruin until in 1890 a mission was opened and the first public baptism took place on 9 April 1893. Fundraising for a permanent church began in 1896. On 14 July 1914 by an Order of Council, “the ancient Township or Chappelry of Durrington was constituted as a separate Ecclesiastical Parish”. Part of the old building was incorporated into the new. The church was finally completed and consecrated on 3 September 1941.
