PRESENT,

The QUEEN's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

WHEREAS Her Majesty's Commissioners for building new churches have, in pursuance of the ninth section of an Act, passed in the session of Parliament holden in the eighth and ninth years of Her Majesty's reign, intituled "An Act for the further amendment of the Church Building Acts," duly prepared and laid before Her Majesty in Council a representation, bearing date the nineteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, in the words following ; viz.:

"Your Majesty's Commissioners for building new churches beg leave humbly to represent to your Majesty, that having taken into consideration all the circumstances of the parishes of Stoughton and Up Marden, in the county of Sussex, and within the diocese of Chichester, it appears to them to be expedient to unite and consolidate certain contiguous portions of the said two parishes and to form the same into one consolidated chapelry for all ecclesiastical purposes, for the consecrated church called Christ Church, situate at Forest Side, Stansted, in the said parish of Stoughton, under and by virtue of the power or authority for this purpose contained in the ninth section of an Act passed in the session of Parliament, holden in the eighth and ninth years of your Majesty's reign, intituled "An Act for the further amendment of the Church Building Acts," and that such proposed consolidated chapelry should be named or called 'The Consolidated Chapelry of Christ Church, Stansted,' and that the boundaries thereof should be those hereinafter mentioned ; that is to say:

The boundary line of the consolidated chapelry of Christ Church, Stansted, commences at the stone in the Sling Wall, in Castle-lane, and proceeds in a westerly direction along the boundary line, separating the said parish of Stoughton from the parish of Warblington, until it reaches the chapelry or tithing of Idsworth ; then northerly along the boundary of the parish of Stoughton and the chapelry or tithing of Idsworth, until it reaches the boundary line of the parish of Up Marden, continues northerly along the boundary line, separating the said parish of Up Marden from the said chapelry or tithing of Idsworth, until it reaches the parish of Compton, then proceeds along the boundary line, separating the said parishes of Up Marden and Compton, until it reaches the parish of East Marden, then follows the boundary line, separating the said parishes of Up Marden and East Marden, until it reaches Horsley-lane ; then proceeds south-easterly along the middle of Horsley-lane and enters the road to Forest-gate ; then proceeds south-westerly along the middle of that road until it reaches the boundary line of the parish of Stoughton ; then proceeds south-easterly along the boundary line, separating the said parishes of Stoughton and Up Marden, until it reaches the road leading to Broad Feed Farm ; then proceeds southerly along the middle of that road for about fifty yards to the northern fence of Blue-fields, then proceeds south-easterly along the eastern fences of Blue-fields and Brocks Napp until it reaches Park-lane; then proceeds westerly along the middle of that lane until it reaches the paddock on the south side thereof, when it leaves the said lane and proceeds southerly, westerly, and northerly along the fences of that paddock and again enters the said lane, along which it proceeds westerly as far as Short-lane ; then proceeds southerly along the middle of Short-lane and along the eastern fences of the Nine Acres, and the Woodland Fourteen Acres, until it reaches the boundary line of the parish of Racton; then proceeds westerly along the boundary line, separating the parishes of Stoughton and Racton, until it reaches the said parish of Warblington ; then proceeds northwesterly along the boundary line, separating the said parishes of Stoughton and Warblington, until it reaches the Stone in the Sling Wall, where the boundary line of the said consolidated chapelry commenced as aforesaid, and which is more particularly delineated on the map or plan hereto annexed, and thereon coloured pink and blue.

"That the consents of the Right Reverend Ashurst Turner, Bishop of the said diocese of Chichester, of the Right Honourable and Right Reverend Charles James, Bishop of the diocese of London, patron in right of his see of the parish church of the said parish of Stoughton, and the Reverend George Augustus Langdale, of Compton, in the said county of Sussex, Clerk, patron in his own right of the parish church of the said parish of Up Marden, have been severally obtained to the formation of the said consolidated chapelry of Christ Church, Stansted, as required by the Acts and sections hereinbefore mentioned, in testimony whereof they have respectively signed and sealed this representation.

"Your Majesty's said Commissioners beg leave further to represent to your Majesty, that it has been mutually agreed between the said Charles James, Bishop of London, and George Augustus Langdale, as such respective patrons as aforesaid, testified as aforesaid, and Augustina Ivers Mary Dixon, of Stansted Park, in the said county of Sussex, Widow (in whom her heirs and assigns the right of presentation and appointment of a minister to serve the said church, called Christ Church, at Stansted aforesaid, is now vested, under and by virtue of the provisions of the will, with several codicils annexed thereto, of her late husband, Charles Dixon, of Stansted Park aforesaid, Esquire, deceased, who, previous to the execution of the said codicils, which bears date the thirteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, acquired the perpetual patronage or right of appointment to Christ Church, at Stansted aforesaid, under the powers contained in the twenty-third section of the Act of Parliament firstly hereinbefore mentioned, as amended by the fourth section of an Act, of Parliament, passed in the eleventh and twelfth years of your Majesty's reign, intituled "An Act to amend the law relative to the assignment of ecclesiastical districts," testified by her signing, and sealing this representation with the approbation of your Majesty's said Commissioners, testified as hereinafter mentioned, and also of the said Ashurst Turner, Bishop of the said diocese of Chichester, testified as aforesaid, that the right of presentation and appointment of an incumbent or perpetual curate to serve the said church, called Christ Church, at Stansted aforesaid, should be vested in, belong to, and whenever occasion may require be exercised by, the said Augustina Ivers Mary Dixon, her heirs and assigns, for ever.

"Your Majesty's said Commissioners therefore humbly pray that your Majesty will be graciously pleased to take the premises into your royal consideration, and to make such Order in respect thereto as to your Majesty in your royal wisdom shall seem meet."

Her Majesty having taken the said representation, together with the map or plan thereunto annexed, into consideration, was pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to approve thereof, and to order, and it is hereby ordered, that the consolidated chapelry therein mentioned for the consecrated church called Christ Church, situate at Forestside, Stansted, in the parish of Stoughton, be accordingly formed, and that the agreement mentioned in the said representation, in respect of the right of presentation and appointment of an incumbent or perpetual curate to serve the said church, be carried into effect, agreeably to the provisions of the said Acts; and that the said right of presentation and appointment of an incumbent or perpetual curate to serve the said church shall be vested in, and shall belong to, and whenever occasion may require be exercised by, Augustina Ivers Mary Dixon, her heirs and assigns, for ever, she being the person mentioned in such representation; and Her Majesty is further pleased to direct that this Order be forthwith registered by the Registrar of the diocese of Chichester.
