Harrison's description (1911):

ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST. Restored in 1875 and 1893. The projection on the N. side and tower were added in 1839. The church is mainly E.E. with some lancets, and fragments of old glass in the E. window. The carved oak pulpit is 16th c. Note: lectern; old alms box; and candelabra. Reg. 1558.
