In Beckley 180 and Willingdon 200 communicants. In Beckley no recussant. In Willingdon there is one old gentlewoman recusant. John Bawtre, Master of Artes, and Chaplayne to the Lord Graye, and thereby qualified, holdeth the two sayde benefices being 15 miles asunder. Patron of Beckley is Sir George Browne by grant from his mother; and the patron of Willingdon is Sir Nicolas Parker knight by lease from the Deane and Chapter of Chichester.
