WE, the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for England, in consideration of a benefaction consisting of a portion of the value of a certain piece of land comprising four hundred and forty-two square yards or thereabouts which is about to be permanently secured as a site for a parsonage or house of residence for the vicarage of Saint Matthias, Preston, Brighton, in the county of Sussex and in the diocese of Chichester, do hereby, in pursuance of the Act of the twenty-ninth and thirtieth years of Her late Majesty Queen Victoria, chapter one hundred and eleven, sections five and eleven, grant and appropriate out of our common fund to the said vicarage of Saint Matthias, Preston, Brighton, to meet such benefaction one capital sum of one hundred and forty pounds, to be applied as the consideration or part of the consideration for the conveyance of the above-mentioned piece of land as and for a site for a parsonage or house of residence for the said vicarage of Saint Matthias, Preston, Brighton.

In witness whereof, we have hereunto set our common seal, this twenty-ninth day of May, in the year one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.
