The living is a vicarage, annexed to Friston, in the gift, alternately, of the Bishop and Dean and chapter of Chichester. The parish contains 2,151 acres, with a population of 370. Here is the Beachy Head Lighthouse, also a preventive station.

Friston is an adjoining parish in the same hundred, union and rape, with 1,445 acres of land. Here also is a preventive station.
