Private ALFRED JAMES SNASHFOLD

43039 8th Bn North Staffordshire Regiment
Died age 19 years on 18 November 1916

 

Son of Arthur Thomas & Jane Snashfold of Kingscote Cottages, Gravetye, East Grinstead.
Alfred, a native of Petworth, was a jockey at the Jevington Stables.

Remembered with Honour

Alfred is buried in the Grandcourt Road Cemetery, Grandcourt FRANCE

The Grandcourt cemetery was made in the Spring of 1917 when the Ancre battlefield was cleared. The Village is 11 kilometers north north west of the town of Albert in the Somme France. 391 First World War men are buried and commemorated in the cemetery of which 108 are unidentified.
